The conference is built around areas of the current music industry. Over three days, sessions focus on how the music economy is structured today, the role of cultural identity in global circulation, and songwriting as a collaborative process across scenes. Other talks address how artists connect with audiences and how live formats are evolving beyond traditional touring.
Here is a glimpse of each section of the program:
Conferences
A significant part of the schedule focuses on rights and ownership. Panels cover publishing, synchronization, and catalog management in a landscape increasingly shaped by AI. Speakers come from companies including Sony Music Publishing, Rimas Nation, Mavin Records, Domino Music, AEG Presents and True Panther.
One of the key sessions is All Eyes on Africa: How Mavin Records is Defining the New Global Standard, featuring Oluwatomisin Afolabi. The conversation focuses on the global expansion of African music and the role of Mavin Records in shaping international success for artists such as Rema and Ayra Starr.
Another highlighted session is Pitchfork Talks: In Conversation with Fcukers, featuring Fcukers. The New York group will discuss their creative process, their approach to songwriting and production, and how their sound connects club culture with live performance.
Music showcases
Primavera Pro also presents 22 showcases open to the public. The lineup combines international and Catalan emerging artists working across different scenes and formats.
Among them is Hadren, a producer and DJ developing a project that blends deconstructed club, avant pop, ambient, and techno through a defined visual identity. L’arannà, formed by Anna Sala and Lara Magrinyà, combines synthesizers with traditional instruments such as castanets and percussion, moving between folk references and experimental structures.
The international selection includes La Sécurité, an art punk collective built on minimalist hooks, tight rhythms, and a clear Riot Grrrl influence, and Christian Sean, a singer, songwriter, and producer working within a pop framework shaped by his experience in the city’s music scene.
Performances are distributed across venues connected to Primavera a la Ciutat, with the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) acting as a central hub.
Ideas Showroom
The Ideas Showroom highlights emerging music industry projects, curated by Primavera Sound radio host Johann Wald.
Among the projects presented is Music C•A•R•E•S: The New Standard for Live Music, developed by Pachama Culture. The platform integrates tools for measuring environmental impact, evaluating working conditions, and aligning economic models with sustainability goals.
Another project is RADIO PATI, created by Anna Bacardit Gallego and Elies Delgado Tamarit. The initiative combines music and cancer research, originating from a series of concerts organized during a period of medical treatment. The project raised more than €23K for metastasis research and later developed into a documentary.
