Sónar+D 2026 announces program focused on active engagement with technology
Sónar’s innovation and digital culture platform Sónar+D has announced its 2026 program, inviting audiences to rethink their relationship with technology in an era increasingly shaped by automation. The event positions itself as a space for critical exploration, encouraging participants to move from passive consumption toward more conscious and creative engagement with digital tools and systems.

The program is structured around three core themes. “AI & Music” reflects on artistic creation in a post AI landscape. “Beyond the Screen” explores how physical presence and human experience can be reintroduced into digital culture. “Digital Gardens and Dark Forests” considers alternative futures for the internet beyond dominant commercial models.
The 14th edition will take place on June 18 and 19 at Llotja de Mar, a new venue in central Barcelona. Over two days, the historic neoclassical building will host talks, workshops, performances, exhibitions, and interactive installations focused on creativity, innovation, and critical thinking. Participants include figures such as Yancey Strickler, niceaunties, Mónica Rikić, Daito Manabe, Mindy Seu, and Joana Moll, alongside collectives and artists exploring new forms of digital culture.

Experimental performances will also be central to the programme. Highlights include sound artist Evicshen, a new collaborative work by Fitnesss and Riusforza, and generative audio experiments by dadabots. The programme further expands through exhibitions and installations presented by organisations such as Arts Korea Lab, Superbe, and Volvox Labs.
For the first time, standalone tickets for Sónar+D are available, allowing audiences to attend the programme independently or in combination with Sónar 2026 at Fira Gran Via. A range of ticket options aims to broaden accessibility, reflecting the event’s ongoing commitment to inclusive participation in contemporary digital culture.
