MUSIC FESTIVAL

A Youth-Driven Dive Into Music, Culture, and the Power of Community

Part of the TMN team and Primavera Pro on the festival’s opening day during the accreditation check-in.

Yesterday marked the opening of Primavera Barcelona 2025, and our young team of creators was on the ground from sunrise to late night, capturing stories, learning from industry leaders, and soaking up every moment of this unique celebration of music and culture.

This short piece isn’t just about the festival—it’s about how our creators experienced it, what they learned, and how they told the story. From the professional stages of Primavera Pro at CCCB to the vibrant energy of Primavera Sound at Parc del Fòrum, our day was filled with meaningful conversations, inspiring performances, and real growth.

☕ Coffee, Conversations & Creative Sparks

The day began the way all good creative days do: coffee, orange juice, and a whole lot of curiosity. TMN’s morning kicked off at Primavera Pro with an insightful conversation between our team and Martin Sutton of The Songwriting Academy, diving deep into the evolving role of AI in the creative process. The shared takeaway? “It’s not about machine learning—it’s about what you can do with the machine learning.” A powerful reminder that technology is a tool, not the artist.

As coffee cups emptied, TMN Creator Claudia Lindo sat down with Catalan indie artist Mirena to discuss the importance of community in music. “You can’t just make music—you need to be involved. You have to network,” Mirena shared. You can catch the full interview in our upcoming video drop on our YouTube Channel.

🎙️ From AI to Authenticity: Industry Voices

Later in the morning, Claudia interviewed Edith Severs, a leading figure in music publishing and copyright, during a panel on AI and music listening. Her insights shed light on how emerging technologies are reshaping the rights and responsibilities of artists and publishers alike.

🎸 Live Music Takes Over the Pati de les Dones

By midday, the courtyard at CCCB came alive. The enchanting OSKA from Austria opened the concert series, blending soft guitar and indie-pop vocals with soul-soothing energy. We spoke to her right after the set—an exclusive interview is coming soon. You can catch the full interview in our upcoming video drop on our YouTube Channel.

Next up was MĖLYNA, a band from Lithuania that we’ve been following closely. Their sound—melancholic, raw, and deeply connected to nature—was born in a converted stable-turned-studio. TMN creators sat down with them for another exclusive look into their world and artistic process.

🎧 Behind the Scenes with the Local Legends

TMN creator Noelia Serrano tracked down Paula Cidraque, the influential programmer of Barcelona’s iconic Sala Apolo, for a candid interview on curating talent and pushing the boundaries of local music culture. Stay tuned—this one’s special. You can catch the full interview in our upcoming video drop on our YouTube Channel.

🌅 Sunset, Sound, and Energy at Parc del Fòrum

As the afternoon transitioned into evening, part of our team headed to Parc del Fòrum for the official launch of Primavera Sound. True to tradition, the opening day was free for all Barcelona residents—a beautiful gesture of inclusion. Performances by Caribou and La Casa Azul set the tone for what’s to come. Our creators were in the crowd, cameras in hand, capturing the energy.

🌭 Butifarras, Poetry & Catalan Power

Meanwhile, others stayed at CCCB for a cultural twist presented by the Catalan Arts Music. The opening evening featured performances by Remei de Ca la Fresca, blending poetry and politics in their collaboration with Lebanese-Palestinian activist Rafeef Ziadah, and Xicu, whose introspective music explores pain as a path to growth.

And yes—there were free Catalan butifarras for everyone. A perfect end to a soul-stirring day.

🙌 Gratitude & Growth

As the founder of TMN, I couldn’t be prouder. Watching our creators—Claudia, Amaia, Ivan, Himel, Gisela, Carla, and Noelia—tackle each interview, make each connection, and embrace every learning opportunity was inspiring.

Huge thanks to mentor Javier Rueda for guiding our team, and welcome to Savana, who joins us soon, and Mireia, who joins us today.

Our deepest appreciation also goes to Primavera Pro and Primavera Sound Barcelona, and to the tireless support of Elena Barreras, Esther Casado, and Natalia Montoya—none of this would be possible without your belief in our mission.

🎉 This Is Just the Beginning

The best of Primavera is still ahead. Today, Thursday, the real magic begins.
