In Fall 2024, Teens Media Network (TMN) launched a creative collaboration with the Escola de Mitjans Audiovisuals de Barcelona (EMAV). The partnership brought together over 10 talented EMAV students to create an original communication piece for TMN — blending academic learning with hands-on professional experience.

As part of their Higher Degree Studies in Image and Sound, second-year vocational training students participated in a real-world learning module designed to connect theory with practice. From September to December, students worked on their first professional project, answering a brief from TMN and engaging in service-learning that met the needs of a real organization. They collaborated in interdisciplinary teams — across production, direction, sound, animation, and lighting — under the guidance of EMAV faculty.

This project marked an important step in deepening TMN’s connection to Barcelona’s creative community. The previous summer, TMN had already collaborated informally with several EMAV students who helped cover major events like Primavera Sound, Sónar, and Cruïlla. Although those efforts were not part of the official curriculum, the students delivered professional-level content as photographers, videographers, and reporters. This new collaboration formally integrated TMN’s work into EMAV’s educational framework.

The final result was an independent communication piece created entirely by EMAV students to showcase the mission and spirit of TMN. This video debuted on TMN’s new digital platform in February 2025 — a redesigned space featuring a fresh news section, expanded learning resources, talent showcases, on-demand video, merchandise, and the official launch of the TMN Creator Badge and subscription plan.

For the students, this collaboration offered a unique opportunity to unleash their creativity and contribute to a real-world media initiative. For TMN, it was a chance to spotlight emerging creators while building bridges between education and the professional world.
