Sarah Meth: I hope my music always keeps changing

Sarah Meth reflects on her origins, creative process, and the evolution of her sound.

In this conversation, the London based artist speaks about growing up making music as a way to understand the world, uploading early demos to SoundCloud, and how music school helped her find both confidence and community.

She reflects on how her sound has evolved over time, shaped by experimentation, limited resources, and a constant openness to change.

Sarah Meth also discusses her influences, from Nina Simone to the people around her, emphasizing how friendships and collaboration continue to shape her work. She shares her perspective on the London music scene, describing it as a fluid and supportive environment where artists actively contribute to each other’s creative processes.

The conversation moves through her songwriting approach, where ideas often emerge in motion and intuition plays a central role. She reflects on resisting perfectionism, allowing songs to develop over time, and staying present with the creative process.

She also speaks about the relationship between music and visuals, highlighting the importance of collaboration in bringing ideas to life, and shares insight into her recent single Bromance is Dead.

Looking ahead, she hints at new work that connects her past releases and live performances into something more complete.
