At Austin City Limits Music Festival 2025, TMN creator Aja Haywood sat down with Zinadelphia, a rising artist whose name pays homage to her hometown of Philadelphia. For Zinadelphia, ACL was more than another stop on her tour — it was a dream realized, a chance to bring the tight-knit, community-driven energy of Philly’s scene to one of the biggest stages in the U.S.

She explained how her roots shaped her perspective: “People pursuing music in Philadelphia are just truly in it for the love of the game… everyone is so helpful and supportive.” That grounded spirit carries into her music, which blends soul, jazz, and folk, and into her performances, whether in front of 10 people or 10,000.

Her latest EP, The Magazine, dives into personal and collective struggles. Songs like “Glory Over Love” confront moments of being talked down to or underestimated, especially as a woman navigating creative spaces. “I just need to write a song about this,” she said. “I love that we can all scream it together, but I hate that we can all relate to it.”

For Zinadelphia, music is inseparable from visual art and authenticity. She recommends that new artists play as many shows as possible — the good and the bad — and even learn graphic design to keep their vision consistent. As she told Aja, “Every aspect of my life feels like one giant art project.”
