FROM CATERPILLAR TO BUTTERFLY, AITANA BEGINS HER METAMORPHOSIS IN BARCELONA

LEER EN ESPAÑOL

This Saturday, Barcelona witnessed a historic moment. Aitana kicked off her Metamorfosis Season tour in front of over 48,000 people at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, becoming the first Spanish woman to ever fill the venue solo. And she did it with a show worthy of any major international star: emotional, ambitious, and visually flawless.

The show started with a bang. After an opening set by Julieta and the roar of an expectant stadium, Aitana emerged through hypnotic lights to perform 6 de febrero, the first track from her latest album, Cuarto azul. From the very first second, it was clear that her performance was no longer just music — it was a full experience.

Divided into three main acts, the show journeyed through all stages of her career: from Spoiler to 11 Razones, from Alpha to Cuarto azul. Each segment had its own aesthetic, choreography, and sound, ranging from teen pop-rock and heartfelt ballads to her most electronic side.

Hits like Teléfono, Con la miel en los labios, Vas a quedarte, and Mon Amour Remix lit up the night. There were also deeply emotional moments, such as Música en el cielo, which she dedicated to her grandfather while singing from the stands under galaxy-shaped lights.

The night was also full of surprises. Ana Guerra joined her on stage to perform Lo Malo, reviving an era that defined a generation after Operación Triunfo 2017. Josep Montero (Oques Grasses) sang La gent que estimo, and Pep Sala accompanied her in a moving version of Boig per tu, honoring the legacy of Catalan music.

The climax came with the Alpha act — an intense and emotional rave preceded by a euphoric ABBA DJ set. Aitana appeared with giant butterfly wings, symbolizing her personal and artistic metamorphosis, singing Cuando hables con él, from her latest album. The stadium exploded into a colorful celebration of confetti and lasers with songs like Los Ángeles, 2 extraños, Gran Vía, and En el coche.

In the final stretch, she delivered a string of her biggest hits: Mariposas, Formentera, and of course, Las Babys, which got the entire stadium dancing. The surprise appearance of CAT, Barça’s mascot, added a local and heartwarming touch to the night.

The last songs — Segundo intento, La chica perfecta, and Conexión psíquica — closed out the journey, also giving a small preview of the upcoming tour designed specifically for Cuarto azul. “Us estimo moltíssim,” Aitana said, her voice trembling and eyes shining.

The production was dazzling: over 1,500 m² of stage, 23 dancers, 1,000 m² of LED screens, spectacular costumes (Dreaming Eli, Swarovski, Adidas x Luis de Javier), and impeccable artistic direction by VAMPIRE, BABBLÁ, and FLUGE.

What happened wasn’t just a concert — it was a statement of intent. Aitana is no longer a rising star; she’s an icon. Next stop: Madrid, July 30 and 31 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium. But the metamorphosis has already begun.
