A REVOLUTION IN MOTION

I enter the backstage of Dominnico at 080 Barcelona Fashion, and the Spring-Summer 2025 collection "Varsity Desire" is about to be presented. I don’t realize that what’s about to happen will change my life. No exaggeration.
The space transforms into a whirlwind of energy and anticipation. In the makeup and hair area, the first figures of the Dominnico star system are already in full transformation. Arantxa Castilla-La Mancha, flawless, is getting the final touches: some striking blue nails that have taken over the floor. In the back, Alex de la Croix is on the phone while they work on their hair. I step into a universe in metamorphosis, where each model becomes a canvas for identity and self-expression.
The backstage fills up quickly. The excitement is palpable. I can't help but feel like I’m witnessing something forbidden, an intimate moment that few get to experience. I step further in, leaving behind the frenzy of brushes and straighteners, and enter the boxes where the true works of art rest: the Dominnico pieces.
Samantha Hudson emerges from the first box like a living icon: a black sporty mini skirt, matching corset top, oversized fur coat, and endless high-heeled boots. A look that defies any label, complemented with a wig and flawless makeup. Behind her, a procession of electrifying visions: Sonora in a striking total red look, Álvaro in black and white, Albert hypnotizing me with his intense gaze and dilated pupils. Clara Courel leaves me speechless. Tayce crosses paths with me in a bubblegum-pink look that redefines the concept of impact.
Without thinking, I follow them. I don’t know where they’re going or if I have access, but something inside me urges me to become part of this narrative. As if Dominnico himself is pulling me into his imaginary world.
We reach the heart of the show: the authentic backstage. Gerard Estadella (@icanteachyou) controls the music, mixing electrifying beats that set the pulse of what’s about to happen. The wait extends; the show is delayed. More time to live this waking dream. Models, stylists, makeup artists, stagehands... The space is flooded with creativity and freedom. Charli XCX and techno blare from the speakers. Every garment seems to tell a story, evoking that moment when you discover yourself and decide who you want to be.
I talk to Samantha Hudson and ask her to show me her striking mini skirt; she turns around and shows it to me. Arantxa Castilla-La Mancha shares the most absurd conversation she had while being made up. Santa K tells me that experiencing a Dominnico show is like an LSD trip. Clara Courel sums it up in a sentence that has resonated in my mind ever since: "Fashion is community. Dominnico bets on those of us who want to enjoy the authentic, on those of us who feel different and special."
Nerves grow. The minutes of delay start to show in the atmosphere. Samantha Hudson receives the final instruction: she will be the one to open the show’s finale, waving a Dominnico flag. When did that flag get here? It had been backstage the whole time, but I hadn’t noticed it until now.
The show begins. From backstage, we watch the screens that project what’s happening on the runway. As the models return, the emotion overflows. The "Varsity Desire" collection is now a reality.
Ten minutes later, it’s all over. The team and the models pose at the photocall. At that moment, Villano Antillano appears, and Domingo Rodríguez, the creative director of Dominnico, greets her with a hug. The models leave the space to go change and get ready for the official party. Domingo answers the press's questions.
I leave the venue with the feeling of having witnessed something unrepeatable. I still haven’t fully processed it, but something inside me has changed forever.
Dominnico showed me that it’s possible (and necessary) to create spaces where we all exist, where diversity isn’t an option but the norm. Because Dominnico isn’t just clothing. It’s attitude. It’s the voice of those who challenge labels, of those who understand that dressing is a radical act of expression. It was clear that this collection doesn’t just propose fashion, but a way of seeing the world.
Thanks to everyone who made this possible. A special thank you to all the models for their willingness and to the Dominnico team.
Long live Dominnico.
