Modeselektor Headline German Haus Music Showcase at SXSW 2026

German Haus will host a series of cultural and industry events during SXSW 2026, with a dedicated music showcase running March 12 to 16 at Speakeasy in downtown Austin. The program positions Berlin’s electronic and alternative scenes at the center of Germany’s broader creative export strategy.

Headlining the showcase is Modeselektor, the Berlin based electronic duo formed by Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary. Since the early 2000s, the group has evolved from underground techno innovators into an internationally recognized act shaping contemporary club culture.
The lineup also features Berlin based Turkish artist Nilipek., whose alternative songwriting bridges intimate vocals and experimental production. Sound artist Rosa Anschütz will present work blending cold wave atmospheres with performance based composition. The Dharma Chain joins the program with their reverb driven alternative sound, while German artist t low appears as part of ongoing international positioning efforts within global festival circuits.
Beyond the music programming, German Haus operates throughout SXSW as a platform hosting panels, networking sessions, and creative industry gatherings connecting artists, cultural institutions, and international partners. The initiative is organized by German Music Export under Initiative Musik, in collaboration with Startup Germany and supported by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
The project reflects Germany’s ongoing investment in cultural diplomacy and music export strategies, positioning Berlin’s contemporary scenes within global creative ecosystems.
