The event opened an intimate conversation with the audience, where she was joined by her girlfriend and album cover designer, Etto, and her collaborator Aaron Kobayashi Ritch. Together, they spoke about the creative process behind the album, from early ideas to the final artwork.
Etto revealed that part of the visual concept came from experimenting with printmaking techniques using a jelly pad, a process based on layering, erasing, and rebuilding images. The approach mirrored the way the music itself was developed: long sessions of trial and error, where many ideas were discarded along the way.
Snail Mail described the writing process as intense and detailed, working on lyrics and music simultaneously while listening closely over extended periods. Attempts to speed things up did not work, reinforcing a slower, more deliberate way of creating.
The conversation also touched on personal influences, including her Catholic upbringing and how early experiences shaped lasting patterns in her thinking. At the same time, the tone shifted between introspection and humor, with references to artists like John Brannon and moments from touring life with Dinosaur Jr and Easy Action.

When discussing influences behind Ricochet, she shared a selection of tracks and artists that informed the process, including Liz Phair, Madonna, Deftones, Boa, Panchiko, and Ivy, reflecting a mix of alternative, pop, and experimental sounds.
After the talk, she signed copies of the album, including one for TMN.
