About the Course

This course is designed for beginners who want to get into live music and concert photography.

Across four weeks of guided mentorship and practical assignments, participants work through the full process of live music photography — from preparing a coverage and requesting access, to working inside indoor and outdoor venues and delivering images with professional criteria that follow industry standards.


What You’ll Learn

Professional Workflow
How live music photography operates in practice — from requesting press access independently (no TMN® credentials) to editing and delivering images according to professional editorial standards.

Photography Techniques
How to shoot live performances in challenging conditions, including low light and fast-changing environments, using a DSLR camera or a smartphone.

Creative Direction
How to shape your style, make clear visual decisions, and translate sound, movement, and atmosphere into compelling and professional photographic work.

Portfolio Development
How to select and sequence images for professional and editorial use, basic editing using Adobe Lightroom, and understand what makes a strong submission.

About the Instructor

Pablo Herrera is the Founder and CEO of Teens Media Network® (TMN®). His work has been recognized by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) and the Directors Guild of America (DGA), and he has been awarded by the National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE).

He has over 20 years of experience in the industry as a music photographer and journalist, having covered music events and festivals around the world, including SXSW, ACL Music Festival, Primavera Sound, and many others.

No. You can complete the course using a smartphone or any camera you already have.

Who can join?
Anyone interested in getting into live music photography. No age requirement.

What level is this course?
This is an entry-level course. It’s designed for beginners or those starting to explore live music and concert photography. No prior experience is required.

When do the sessions start?
New groups begin the first week of each month. You’ll receive your schedule and Zoom link after enrollment.
