The British Music Embassy returns to SXSW 2026 as one of the festival’s most established international showcase platforms, presenting a multi-day program focused on emerging and touring artists from across the UK music landscape.

Hosted annually in Austin during the SXSW Music program, the initiative continues to function as a key point of connection between British artists, global industry professionals, and international media, featuring 50 artists in 7 days.

Among the artists confirmed for this year’s edition is Sofia and the Antoinettes, whose debut EP Women Who Love Too Much emerged in 2025 as a series of intimate portraits of love, loss, and identity, inspired by Robin Norwood’s 1985 book of the same name. Championed by BBC Introducing’s Jess Izatt, the 23 year old London artist crafts melancholic narratives of unbalanced relationships through lilting, haunting melodies and vividly poetic songwriting.

Also confirmed for the program are FEET, Panic Shack, Sassy 009, Mae Muller, Adult DVD, and Haunted Youth, highlighting a diverse cross section of the UK’s contemporary music landscape. The showcase reflects the British Music Embassy’s longstanding role as a launchpad for artists expanding into global markets, with past performers including Ellur, Confidence Man, Tigercub, and Venus Grrrls.

Beyond live performances, the British Music Embassy operates as an industry hub throughout SXSW, hosting panels, networking sessions, and collaborative initiatives connecting artists, executives, and cultural institutions. The initiative is delivered through a partnership between PPL, PRS for Music, BPI, the British Council, BBC Introducing, and the UK Department for Business & Trade.

Programming also extends into the broader UK presence at the festival, including the return of UK House, which presents creative technology showcases, immersive media demonstrations, and business networking opportunities across multiple sectors.

The platform continues to position UK music exports within the global festival ecosystem, offering emerging artists their first exposure to US audiences while reinforcing cultural exchange between the UK and international creative industries.
