Guitarricadelafuente stepped onto a New York stage for the first time with two sold out nights at Bowery Ballroom.

On a cold February night in the Lower East Side, the venue was sold out. Snow still on the sidewalks. Inside, no space left. People on the stairs, filling every corner of the room.
Born in Benicàssim, Guitarricadelafuente has grown steadily from Spain into the international circuit. Collaborations with Troye Sivan opened doors, but this was different. This was his first U.S. headline run. New York was the opening statement.
The audience knew every word. A group of young women from Barcelona told me they never expected to see him live in New York. “He is ours,” one of them said. Another compared him to Troye Sivan, but the point was not comparison. It was scale.
For many in the room, this was not nostalgia. It was arrival.
What stands out is the shift in his sound. He has moved beyond the traditional singer songwriter frame into a more defined folk pop direction. The production is sharper. The stage presence is controlled. He understands silence, timing, space.
Spanish lyrics felt natural in the room. Mexicans, Spaniards, and a strong American crowd fully engaged. No hesitation. No distance. In a moment where Spanish language music continues to expand in the United States, this felt aligned with something larger.
By the end of the night the reaction was consistent. “Incredible.” “Another level.” Walking out into the cold, it was clear this will not be a one time visit. The tour now continues through Washington, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He is positioned to return, and to grow here.
