SummerStage NYC returns from May through October 2026, marking its 40th anniversary with a citywide program across all five boroughs.

Organized by the City Parks Foundation, the series continues its format: free outdoor shows mixing local scenes with international artists across genres.

This year’s lineup moves between hip hop, jazz, indie, electronic, and global sounds, with names like De La Soul, Mavis Staples, Black Country, New Road, Spoon, and Shaggy appearing across the program.

Other highlights include Angelique Kidjo, Bilal, Julieta Venegas, Laurie Anderson, and Shabaka, alongside DJ sets from Pete Rock and Funk Flex.

Beyond individual names, the strength of SummerStage remains in its mix. A single week can move from legacy hip hop to contemporary jazz, from electronic sets in Central Park to community-driven shows across neighborhoods.

Some ticketed shows are already on sale, including artists like Yellowcard and The Martinez Brothers, while the broader free program rolls out across the season.

SummerStage continues to operate as one of New York’s largest free outdoor cultural programs, bringing international artists into public space while keeping access open.
